Tonnes Reduced

According to The New York Times, airline travel accounts for over 2.5% of global emissions per year. In 2020, it is expected to account for 1,020,000,000 tonnes of harmful greenhouse gas. By 2050, this is estimated to increase to over 1.8 billion tonnes per year. Traveling is part of our lives and an important piece of our global economy. By offsetting at least one flight, you have already begun to help offset the damage but there are even more ways to reduce your travel footprint. When picking your flights, fly in economy if you have the option, choose to fly with carriers that are using biofuels. Take a non-stop rather than a connecting flight and pack smart and small to reduce the plane’s weight which will save fuel. If possible, try to take one less flight per year.

Every little bit matters. Thank you for doing your part.
