Honduras is a country in turmoil, and this year, violence and corruption became worse. But cooling our planet can’t wait, so despite the chaos, dedicated project workers were able to build 6,000 carbon-reducing cookstoves this summer! How? By training local micro-construction companies not just to create the stoves, but also to organize community support for them and manage essential timing and transport. Even in times of political instability, families have to eat. Every new cookstove built releases less carbon into the air and helps preserve forests. It’s a classic example of “think globally, act locally”.
