SXSW Eco

October 10th, 2016

During this three-day event, Cool Effect engaged with attendees using a life-size installation to encourage people to shine a light and cool the planet. For every dollar contributed to fighting CO2, attendees were given a peg to place on our world map. Each light represented an individual action. Over the course of three days, our community created a cumulative effect around the globe by reducing carbon pollution one small light at a time.

To close the conference, our COO Marisa de Belloy shared the stage with the head of Global Offset Research, Siddharth Yadav, and Impact Carbon founder Evan Haigler, to show how individuals can fight global warming with high quality carbon credits. By the end of the event, Cool Effect had retired a total of 8,400 tonnes of pollution and increased its total number of community members to 50,000.
